Our broken planet

Project type

Exhibition

Date

2021

Location

London

Role

Lead Designer

The Natural History Museum is not just a museum, but also a scientific institution. This project has been put forward in its schedule for two reasons. Firstly, its working title was’ The Great Rest for Nature’, is to raise awareness among our visitors of the current planetary emergency and to inform, inspire and empower them to become ‘advocates for the planet’. We aim to kick-start a public conversation about why and how our relationship with the natural world needs to change. Secondly, early this year the attack by COVID19 make this topic much more urgent. As a public institution it has the responsibility to encourage and acknowledge the citizens about the relationship between human and nature, the impact of human activity and how to save ourselves.

This is a free exhibition in the Jerwood Gallery, opening in a staggered form from March to September 2021. There will be a diverse programme of live events running throughout the year, and a range of digital displays and activities online.
